Two workshops hosted in the Bahrain National Museum, conceptualizing ancient mythical figures of the country’s 4,000-old-civilization, Dilmun. The multi-day creative sessions ‘Visualizing the Epic of Gilgamesh‘ and ‘Visualizing Dilmun,’ focused on the principles of freehand drawing using pencil and ink.
Participants were introduced to the elementary skills of story creation, conceptual sketching, character drawing, and representing the tale’s elements and characters in a creative aspect. They also learned conceptual sketching with emphasis on form, texture, circulation and their places in the design hierarchy.
Cartoon Planet will once again give workshops visualizing Bahrain’s ancient civilizations in collaboration with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities. The authority will be the Art and Cultural Sponsor of Artists for a Cause‘s second edition.
